20/20 Captains Cup (BHS & LCGS)

Captains cup report (James Curran)

On the 15th of November 2017, Grammar hosted Brooks High School at Faulkner Park for the annual Captains Cup fixture. The fixture recognises that both school’s have alumni that have captained the National Cricket team, George Bailey (Grammar) and Ricky Ponting (Brookes). Grammar won the toss and elected to bat, with openers Samuel Elliston-Buckley and Jack Colgrave getting off to a flying start. They did not slow down from there batting out the overs, and ended up finishing 0-196 off 20 overs. Samuel Elliston-Buckley was the star of the show with 104* and was well supported by Jack Colgrave who ended up with 26*. Coming into bat, Brooks never got going losing consistent wickets. Wickets were shared around for Grammar with Ethan Fox taking 3, Nicole Patrick taking 2 and Dominic Schiliro finishing the job off with a hat trick! Brooks ended up being bowled out for 68. It was a great game thoroughly enjoyed by all, and we hope it is continued on for many years to come.
